Use & Care
All glazes used are Lead and Barium free, properly matured in the kiln, which ensures that there is no leaching.
All of my functional pottery is dishwasher safe when careful placed within a secure distance from other items, so to avoid chipping or breaking during the process. If the integrity of the glaze Is compromised, bacteria built up can be developed and the product should be discarded.
All of my pottery is oven safe when placed in a COLD oven that is then brought up to temperature. Placing a cold piece of pottery into a hot oven can cause it to crack and break from the temperature shock.
Microwave NOT Safe
Some of the clays and glazes I use contain iron. Heating food on them can create concentrated hot spots that stress the pottery, causing cracks.
NOT For Stove Top or Open Flame
My mid to high fired pottery is vitrified, not suitable for a stove top or open flame, where the flames produce an inconsistent heat, which will result in cracks and breakage.
NOT Freezer Safe
My pottery is not designed to go into the freezer, and doing so may result in cracks and splitting, especially when filled with a liquid.
The Raku items should be used only for decorative purposes. Due their porosity, they do not hold water. Keep them displayed away from sun light. Can be washed with mild soap or simply dusted.
